Hello and welcome ~
I’m Kristina Aschenbach, and I’m so glad you’ve found your way here.
People often tell me they feel seen and heard in my treatment space and that means everything to me. I aim to bring a calm, intuitive presence to my work, and create a space where healing feels possible even when life has felt hard or stuck. My style is attentive and collaborative. I take a whole-person approach by paying close attention to physical patterns and your lived experience so that healing is both compassionate and effective.
Over the years, my practice has drawn people seeking relief from everyday physical discomforts like neck and back pain, chronic tension, injuries, and the accumulated stress of busy lives. I’ve also worked with many people who are navigating major life transitions such as grief, menopause, emotional burnout, chronic illness, or a sense of disconnection from themselves. A number of my clients have spent years over-functioning and holding everything together, and by the time they come to me, they’re ready to reclaim space for their own healing. Whether the pain is physical, emotional, or both, I meet each person with care, curiosity, and respect for where they’ve been and where they’re going. My work is about helping you move toward relief, restoration, and a renewed sense of connection to yourself.
Before becoming an acupuncturist, I worked in education as a teacher and counselor. That chapter taught me how to listen closely, hold nuance, and honor complexity. I’ve now been practicing acupuncture in Richmond, Virginia for over 14 years. My work blends the deep wisdom of classical Chinese medicine with a grounded, anatomical understanding of the body. I’m continually inspired by how the body responds when it's met with care.
I hold a Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, am nationally certified and licensed to practice by the Virginia State Board of Medicine.
Outside the treatment room, you’ll often find me in nature hiking the trails, biking, or spending time with friends and family. Staying active and connected to the people and places I love helps ground me, and that naturally carries into how I practice.
I look forward to meeting you soon!
